THE PIT STOP RESCUE
The Pit Stop Rescue is a breed specific rescue for a very misunderstood dog, the American Pit bull Terrier. Statistically, pit bulls & pit bull mixes are the number one breed seen coming through the shelter doors daily. Pit bulls are the majority of the breeds that you will see stray and begging for help on the side of the road. The Pit Stop Rescue prides itself in trying to help as many of these dogs, DAILY, as we can. We also understand that we are a small local rescue and the resources to save them all are just not there. Just as you reach out for our help everyday, we reach out for help as well. Because we are foster based, it is difficult for us to take them all in as we have no place for them to go unless we have an approved, available foster home for them. We never want to leave someone with the response of, “sorry, we can’t help.” If we are unable to help in your time of need, we encourage you to keep trying! We have listed several other rescue resources below that you can use to reach out for help. After all, all rescues should be working together for the well-being of the dog. The resources we have listed for you below are all rescues/shelters that are highly respected in our Louisiana communities. We apologize ahead of time if we are unable to assist and we hope that the information below has been helpful to you.
